Message Board - Machinery: Kubota L5740

9 Aug 2010 by martinabz

I purchased a Kubota L5740 in march this year. It was an ex demo machine and when arrived the operators manual was missing. I have contacted my dealer many times to get the manual supplied to myself. They say that they cant get hold of one for me. Kubota are unwilling to supply a manual to them!!!! . Is this a common problem with orange tractors? If so maybe i should have stayed with the green and yellow Deere. Almost six months on this is becoming a real problem and what can i expect in the future?

Hi Martinabz

Please could you ring me on 07977164337 regarding the operators manual, you can purchase these directly using the following link

http://www.kubota.co.uk/page.asp?PageRef=145

or if you ring me i will see what i can do.

Kubota Uk have got stock of these manuals so i cannot see why there is a problem, Who is the dealer you purchased this machine through?

Certainly name the dealer here now Martin other wise you are tarring them all with the same orange brush and some are actually pretty good. It's a good tractor with many features which you would certainly need a manual to fully benefit from. Especially if you have a cabbed version as shown in Kevins pic.

Kevin's post is quite interesting.

The machine is ex-demo so you can reasonably expect a full set of documents to have come with it.

But first Kevin offers a web-link to a site where you can purchase a manual at cost to yourself.

Then he make the magnanimous gesture to 'see what he can do'. Well, other than supplying a manual what could he do?

And thirdly he admits he has already checked and confirms that Kubota UK actually have stock of these manuals available (possibly because they don't supply them with new tractors?) !

So Kevin, your post really should have merely said:

Hi Martinabz, we have stock of these manuals and I'll send you one and a free cap if you PM me your address.

But now we are hopefully about to find out who wins the 'Worst Kubota Dealer of the Year' award - Over to you Martinabz.

Hi Guys, would you believe it, i recieved a phone call this lunchtime informing me that they now have a operators manual for me!!. I think the problem was that nobody was willing to part with cash for an item that should have been supplied with the tractor. As you can seen from Kevs first post the were available at a price until sumomosr kindly pointed Kevin in the right direction. Thanks

Ah, the realisation of common sense coupled with customer service.

A pity it took a prompt, in the first place, from a colleague half a world away!!

I know no boundaries.

I have to say i have never had any problem with my local Kubota dealer Browns of Chesham......i purchased the very first M9540 released in Bucks....and i have a very good rapport with the guys at Dormer Road in Thame (Kubota UK HQ)...always helpful, and always phone back if they cannot answer query straight away....i must say that i think this problem lies purely with the dealer that martin dealt with....so to be fair Sum...i think the " ill see what i can do" was merely a loose phrase...and YES manuals do come with new tractors...
by the way Kevin....i spent shy of £30k with you guys...an i didnt get a cap....ive asked Dave Roberts for a jacket too....LOL

Ahh Tickey, but you did get a manual so you don't qualify for a cap.

Well spotted Baz.

LOL @ Sum.......true i suppose...i could hold out for my new telescopic pick up hitch that has been developed by the R&D guys at Kubota UK HQ....rather than a cap and jacket....lol...
