Football Ground Size and Build

Please could someone answer the following:
1) What is the min size requirements by FA for a Adults Football Pitch
2) I am planning to buy a plot of land to convert to a pitch(approx 1.6acres), is that enough
2.1) What would I need to do to set up a pitch ie ground cultivating , seeding or turf etcc and what would be the costs approx.

FA pitch sizes

The FA requirements are 45-90 metres in width and 90-120 metres in length.

An average football league ground pitch would be 65 metres (width) by 100 metres in length.
A total of 6500 square metres. 1.6 acres is equivalent to 6551 square metres.

Though this doesn't allow space for throw-ins etc at football league measurements, but you should be able to fit in a reasonable sized pitch if the area of land that you purchase is rectangular to the right dimensions.

With regards costs,it will depend on existing levels, soil types and drainage.

As a complete ball park figure I'd estimate a budget cost of between £15-£30K for removal of existing vegetation, relevelling and grading, cultivation, seeding and fertilising. Turfing would probably add at least £20k to the price.

After that you will need to consider irrigation and on-going maintenance of the playing surface.
