After eight weeks holiday the head of PE came back today with a long lists of extras for the next ten days and hope you had a good time off must think the rugby fairys pop the posts up and mark all eight pitches out. As the man said did you have any cricket on it looks so green i said yes plenty but we do know our stuff. Ian

Ian, we now have a formal meeting before the end of the summer term with our director of sport and head of rugby , this minutes both my proposed works and gives them an oppurtunity to raise anything they want us to attend to, helps in programming work throughout the summer, and stops last minute demands.

Historically had the same thing here, Ian.
We implemented a similar thing to Neil last term. It's always difficult to pin down all of the relevant people in one place at the same time, so setting up a meeting can be difficult. Rather than this, I just email of the necessary people a couple of weeks before the end of each term, asking them what they want for the next term, they then get back to me with their requests, we then collate all of the data, make sure it is all doable, and then confirm the details with them. Working well so far.

Yes guys we have that two for the last 2 years but it doesnt stop the extras usually 2 grass hockey pitches which he didnt want last year suddenly wants them again they won't be used much , we have already started work on 2 more squares making five i've had one man off sick all holiday and thats us down to 2 to cover 90 acres. and this week i'm on my own some oh deep joy. It can be difficult, but at least there is some comeback on your part by saying that this wasnt asked for initially, so will have to go to the back of the list ( easier said than done sometimes though!!)
I sometimes think we make a rod for our own backs by correctly assuming what the teaching staff want, rather than them being proactive and asking us for it.

During term time we have a weekly meeting and that works well. How ever i think he has too much time on a sun bed dreaming up new plans then chucks them my way. Ian

We have summer camp for six weeks, which ends on friday. Giving me a week to prepare two hockey pitches for start of term. (no problem)
Recieved email this morn can we please start pre-season training on monday as it`s been quiet!!

Oh yes Bluecoat you do the school has booked the tennis courts out all holiday and are now surprised that the courts havent been repainted i had booked it for next week but just been told that theres a netball course on all week oh deep joy. So hopefully the weather will be good enough in october half term.
