Message Board - Cricket: Surface Water Remover

Hi all, I had some great advice on here last time we wanted to buy anything, went with your recomendations and the new mower we bought was excellent so I thought I'd ask your advise again.
My club bought some new covers this year and they worked really well however it was a complete nightmare getting water of the side and run up sheets by hand with sponges etc.
We're looking now to get a bowdry/waterhog of some description for next season and was wondering is anyone has any recomendations? Money is, as always, a factor but assuming there's not a huge difference in cost I was hoping to find out which product you think is the best?
Thanks,
Paul

I've only ever used the Bowdry. Seems to work well imo though I don't often use it on top of my sheets.
Normally, I simply fold the covers towards the center (so the water doesn't run off) then drag to a suitable point on the outfield before turning the cover over to get rid of the water.
Of course there's no bounce, bend your back and put some bloody effort in.

I use a Bowdry to take the water off my flat sheet which is 3 tracks wide. I have a bit of a dip in my square so the water accumulates there and if I try and fold it over and pull it off , the water goes everywhere. But it takes about an hour to get the water off.
What do I do? I just cut the grass.

I do similar to Jon. Fold over length ways, then fold one end to the other and attach to the tractor towbar, drive of the square, unfold and tip water in an unused area of outfield - haven't had a spillage yet.

i do as above and use the Bowdry if there is to much water on the sheet. A lot of water means a lot of weight and sometimes it is advisable to remove some water before attempting to fold over and tow off.
