Message Board - Football: Box Net

hi lookin to install box nets at my local football club, Was wonderin if the net suports at the back of the goal have 2 be an exact width out from the post or and exact distance back from the net and also do they sit higher than the cross bar.

was thinkin a 45deg angle of the corner of the net but not sure.

Contact Dan here at Pitchcare. He can forward on to you full instructions from the manufacturers as to the exact positioning of the net support posts for these nets. It's not 45deg.

The Ground Grading document makes no mention of any angles, only that the support poles must be of professional manufacture.

Much will depend on what level you're at.

from memory when doing ours a few years ago, i think the back supports are approx 0.5m outside of the posts, and about 1.5 - 2m beyond the posts , but as Johnr says look at spec - one thing to bear in mind, the supports need to be angled back so that when they "take the strain" of thr net they are pulled upright and plum, cant recall the angle this needs to be though, and quite difficult to judge by eye.

as for the level its just junior football in scotland

Yes, about 400mm higher from memory.

one last question about the supports how deep should they go into the ground 2? the polls will be in sleeves so they can be removed thanx
