CRICKET SQAURE TOP DRESSING
THANKS FOR LOOKING AT MY QUESTION
OK so every year we spend a load of time and cash top dresssing the square with Ongar Loam, very good it is too and i'm happy that we used it when we made the new square a couple of years ago.
Now as part of the autumn work we've spiked the square and scarified it well, then we went over it with our Sisis Roto Rake with the brush and box on, result? well you all know. We've got a large pile of what came out, sure a lot is grass debris which needed to go but all the rest seems to be the dressing we put on last year!
Well now the question, i have is this is there any use we can make of what we have brushed up, can i compost it, or sift out the grass, etc and leave some reusable dressing?
Any ideas or advise please

Composting
When i trained at first in golf we always used to keep the cores.
Now that i am in grounds i make use of nearly all of my waste product.
With the material you have i would check that it is not all thatch mix it with some leaves add a bit of organic fertilisert cover up and turn once a month.
The result is a very rich high bacteria content compost which is them re-applied to our goal mouths at the end of the season.

Watering
A bit of a late reply but we thought the same two or three years ago. Now we make sure the square is well watered before we scarify which not only helps to get the blades into the ground but seems to bind the surface together and on the deck. ie not in the collection box.
