Drainage

Mole draining with a mole plough. This is dragging a steel 'bullet' around 15cm diameter through the soil over an existing drainage system. This can be done with a tractor or winch. The bullet forces the soil apart leaving a pipe like tube impression which can last up to ten years or more. It is best done through clayey soils - in more friable soils the 'pipe is likely to collapse.

You should get proper advice from a knowledgeable person visiting your site before undertaking this sort of work or planning a solution to your drainage problems. You should also find out , if you don't already know, what sort of drainage system, if any, you have installed and check to see if it is working properly. Check outlets, manholes, ditches etc.. You could also take cores of approximately 20cm in your problem areas to see if the water is moving downwards in the soil. If it isn't, it may be the case that some deep aeration is required. Again, on the spot advice should be taken.
