Sisis Quadraply for the use of

I have been brousing through this site and its adverts, and seen the sisis site looked at the Quadraplay and can see that beeing bloody useful, however never having seen one before I was wondering if it is as useful as it looks or is it a gagdet that would possibly not get used a lot. I am about to ring Sisis up for the broshure and hopefully get a demo, but the guy is a salesman at the end of the day and bound to tell me I can`t live with out one What does the panel think.
QUESTION 1
Are they any good,IE value for money.
Q2
Any body got a quality second hand one coming up for sale maybe
Q3 Are they a seasonal use thing or an all year round user.
Q3
I am being asked by more rugby/football clubs if I can do their grounds So therefore will I be able to live without one as the salesman will no doubt say.

Quadraplay

Anybody in Leicester or nearby use one so that I could see what they do.

quadraplay

i have one and use it after every match, they are a god send, whilst rolling the pitch(but without consolidating) they also repair minor divots particulary football and brush the pitch leaving it looking good also. i recently had a period in which mine was out of use , and the pitches suffered as a result.

Quadraplay

AVFC, thanks for your speedy reply,it sounds like there pretty good then, the next question then has got to be,How long does it take to do a football pitch,
The one in the advert appears to spike, rake, roll then brush all in one operation, would that be the `normal combonation for football/rugby, and finaly are they a robust sort of machine.

PS would you still be able to live without one.

Quadraplay

Like avfc I have a Sissis quadraplay and I find it the most useful machine I run with several football pitches and rugby pitch which with the exception of 0ne pitch are used at lest twice a week and sometimes more I am sure I would not be able to produce the quality of playing surfaces with out the tool. and before you ask I don't have any connection with Sissis.

quadraplay

i find 20-30minutes to do a pitch, it all depends on presentation, if im doing a 1st team pitch i will take longer and stripe it to look really good. a training just up and down. i have taken the rakes off mine as i find them a little to harsh, i find the brush does a good enoug job. i have altered the attachments round aswell, i have the roller 1st slitter 2nd, brush 3rd guess its just a personal preference. they are petty hardy piece of equipment as long as you miss the goal posts, the only problem ive had is the bearings on the roller but thats down to wear and tear.

Quadraplay

Many thanks to pete 27 and avfc for your input gents, seems that they are a good buy then,Maybe the salesman is in with a fighting chance of me parting with my hard earned cash then.Better ring Sisis up for the demo, Once again thank you for your time.

Quadraplay

Read with interest about the use of the quadraplay and i would agree it is a very useful bit of kit. We however have only some of the attachments (roller, brush) and are looking to buy the slitter/spiker to go on it. What are peoples thoughts on this? Would it be of benefit long term?

Quadraplay

Bullybeef, I dont know of anyone in the leicester area who has this implement. However, as written by others, an excellent piece of equipment to have.

Bully, I assume you are a contractor?
In Leicestershire?

Simon, I am sure from my own experance that you will not regret buying the spiker altough it is not cheap some thing like £750 new, however I believe it is money well spent if I have now purchased a second one for my quadraplay and have had it made so that it run mock the front one resulting in filling the divot left after a game as been played much better resulting in much less hand work which with my work load as been a god send, and the pitch's are looking and playing much better with a much quicker recovery.

Simon: The rake attachment is really best used during a pitch renovation. If it's set hard to the ground and when the soil is nicely friable, it does an excellent job of relevelling the surface.
I find it a bit too rough to use during the playing season. Note though that you must install the rake the right way, namely so that the spring tines open out as you go forward. If not, the tines can break. This happened to me (it was set up by my supplier but I must say that the Sisis instructions are not clear on this matter) and it made me a nervous wreck when I was gang mowing. I never did find all the tines!)

The slitter goes in about 50mm and I'm always using it. In the playing season I normally use the slitter and brush, the latter pushing down quite hard. I find this does a good job levelling the soil and lifting the grass. It does rip out some grass but only the weaker stuff which is O.K. to me.

A big plus of this machine, particularly compared with chain harrows, is that you can make a striped finish to your pitches which always impresses. I find it takes me about 40 minutes a pitch, say 7000 sq ms. Mine is a 6' Quadraplay but there is also an 8' one.

Anway, I highly recommend it (To Sisis Promotion Manager; please note that I prefer the new car in blue, not Sisis orange as you originally suggested).

sisis quadraplay

Sisis publicity manager logging in! Michael I believe Dinky do their cars in any colour so no problem. I have checked our WI and on page 2 there is a drawing showing how to fit the grooming rake with a caption saying that it is important to fit the coil the right way round. We do our best! Bullybeef if we can help with a quote or if you would like a demonstration please e-mail on info@sisis.com or phone 01625 503030. Thanks chaps for all the positive comments on the Quadraplay - it is a good piece of equipment.
