Hayes Bowling Green Middlesex
Last night I went swimming and decided on a change of scenery so took myself along to Botwell Leisure centre (A brand spanking new leisure centre in Hayes Middlesex, sat right next to the old swimming pool waiting to be demolished) To get to the entrance you pass by Hayes Bowling club and I have to say I was extreemly impressed with the green. I just have to say to who ever looks after it - very well done you must be real proud. Sorry I didnt have a camera realy and they don't have a website unfortunately so you will have to take my word that the surface was like baize, quite something considering the winter we've had. Certainly look forward to trying out my new set of bowls on that one.

Mal, is that the one known as Hayes Botwell? A good mate has just defected there.

I believe it may well be Vic. It is on the corner of Church Road and Botwell lane. Do pass on my comments if you would. I will be opening my green the day after you open yours but will be hoping to get it over sown and lightly topdressed before then as it is a bit thinner than I would like this year.

Have the feeling the members do that green themselves, will let the wonderfully named Willie Woods know. Our coverage is always thin and am trialling some Velvet Bent this season, with a view to oversowing with it in Autumn. Top dressed about a week ago and growth is kicking in now.
