Wondering if anyones any advice on how to get started fulltime in groundsmanship, i'm a qualified greenkeeper with 25 years experience and for the past 10 years i've also looked after the local semi-pro football clubs pitch hosting schoolboy and semi-pro internationals as well as scottish cup ties but would like to do this as my fulltime job

Well, not to put to finer point on it, but you might want to apply for a job as a Groundsman if you want to be a Groundsman - there was a vacancy at Celtic recently, there is another at Middlesborough's training ground currently (http://www.iog.org/train-education/careers/jobs/gman_mfc), and other vacancies are coming up all of the time.

With your experience in Greenkeeping, and football pitch maintenance in a voluntary capacity, you should walk into a job in Groundsmanship - first step is to apply, second step is to be yourself throughout the application stages, and the rest should fall into place from there.

Thanks for the feedback, have applied for a few jobs on here and on the i.o.g website no interviews and the feedback is mainly not experienced in football enough
