Could anyone with any recent experience, good or bad of installing sand filled carpet and porous macadam courts (3 of each) please pm me with any useful info they may have.
I am tendering to three companies and have chosen two so far. This is not for The Hurlingham Club.
Thanks in advance.
Peter

Of course the grass looks good. The sun is shining.

Peter, we have just had 6 sand filled tennis courts installed, you are more than welcome to pop in the new year and take a look.

Regards

Neil

We had three 'porous' macadam courts installed three years ago.

Few pointers from my experience of it:

1. Don't use a local building firm who have no idea of the requirements of the sport

2.Don't use pea gravel for a 'decorative' border/drainage course

3. Do survey the land before taking a dirty great asphalt paver on very wet and unstable land...

4. Do have a dirty great crane onsite if you ignore point three...

Oh how I wish I was involved in the design/monitoring of that project...

Aside from the above, should be a piece of cake. There 'may' be design specs (stress the term 'may') in the office... can have a look if needed.

Mike
