Hi all does anyone know if we can use shower water for irrigation or does the shampoo and soap make it unuseable. Als does anyone know people who supply water bowsers and storage tanks. Ian

I have been thinking along the same lines. I have been looking at 2nd hand ibc containers @ around £40.00 each for 1000ltr.
Not sure about putting grey water on the square though.

The only thing I would be a little concerned about is putting a sodium based surfactant onto clay soils long term as found in shower gel etc.

Ian, remember a couple of things. It is unsafe to store greywater for very long. It will be lightly contaminated with bacteria at first but they will grow. If you do store it it will have to be treated.

Check carefully that your cleaners aren't using bleach or organic cleaners in the showers/sinks etc. That's ok for black water (sewerage) but not reused greywater.
