Welcome to the February Newsletter
Where is the year going? I can't believe that we're already at the end of February. After the wet start to January, this month has been pretty settled, albeit cold. Many of the cold nights have been followed by some glorious days of sunshine, with temperatures getting up to unseasonal highs of 15 °C.
The dry weather has allowed us to start a little earlier on many of our spring operations and it has been a blessing for the cricket and tennis guys in particular.
The warm daytime temperatures have also encouraged some regrowth and recovery, although it will be another few weeks before this kicks in fully.
There has been some recent discussion on the message boards about postponed games and it was great to see everyone rally around those that had lost games to the weather. The recent cold night time temperatures meant that we (Wolves) also lost a fixture against Scunthorpe, after our undersoil heating system had failed the previous night. Even the doubled up frost covers on the south end goalmouth were unable to prevent a -7°C frost from penetrating to a depth.
In other news we have been doing a bit of growing ourselves with the addition of two new staff in our Sales team. They have been adding some new ranges to the Shop and we will be bringing you all the news and latest offers under separate e-mails.
Bring on the Spring!
Best Wishes
Dave Saltman, MD Pitchcare
