Dear

Dave Saltman, Managing Director, Pitchcare.com LtdNew year, new challenges, new opportunities and, hopefully, even better times ahead for the sports turf industry.

2003 was a good growing year for the groundsmen and greenkeepers and, from what I hear, many of the companies in the sector also fared very well.

The prospects for 2004 also look very good. All the key indicators point to a bullish year – the stock market is forecast to keep on rising, professional services company BDO Stoy Hayward report that output and confidence in the UK economy is positive, and underlying inflationary pressures remain relatively subdued.

Unemployment towards the end of 2003, at 4.9%, was the joint lowest rate since records began in 1984.

All in all the signs are very optimistic and, if I may say, the perfect climate for growth, in more ways than one.

Regards
Dave Saltman
Managing Director, Pitchcare
