| Heydour - The Company |
Heydour Limited was established in 1994 to provide a high quality and specialised design, construction and management service to the sport and leisure industry. Our company was formed by bringing together personnel who already had many years experience in this industry. This combined experience enabled Heydour to quickly establish itself and gain a reputation for high quality construction and installation of synthetic surfaced sports facilities.
Many of these facilities are at prestigious locations and include the National Sports Centre at Bisham Abbey, the Universities of Loughborough, Durham and Hertfordshire. Eton, Shrewsbury, Bryanston and Sherborne Schools and several facilities for the armed forces. We are a Principal Contractor Member of the Sports and Play Construction Association (SAPCA), an independent body that creates and upholds the exacting standard of the industry.
If you are considering the development or a refurbishment of an existing synthetic sports facility, we can offer a complete in house design and build package including information to assist with planning permission if necessary. www.heydour.com |

| Heydour complete new pitch for The Leys/St. Faith’s - Cambridge |
|
 |
The Leys is the only independent, co-educational boarding and day school for 11-18 year olds in Cambridge and sets very high standards for all curricular activities including the provision of sport related education. At the Bursars’ Conference in 2006 we received an enquiry from The Leys for a new sports pitch and following a tender process the client visited many sites, some built by ourselves and a number by other contractors. |
The pitch had to satisfy the requirements of hockey and tennis as
the main sports and the solution chosen for this combination of end uses was a new build sand-dressed synthetic grass surface. Due to the location the specification for the fencing had to be acceptable to the local residents and satisfy the strict planning requirements. Furthermore, the pitch will have no floodlighting due to its proximity to dwellings in the area. READ MORE

The final decision as to which contractor to choose was left to the sports teachers themselves based on playing performance criteria since the school management were satisfied that we had the necessary contractural and management infrastructure in place. At the end of the decision making process we were the chosen contractor. The pitch has been surfaced with a heavy duty LSR (Low Slide Resistance) Sand Dressed synthetic grass carpet. The density of the manufactured surface has been installed onto a rubberised insitu laid shock pad specifically to meet the performance requirements specified by the school. |
| Prior to commencing our construction works, the area earmarked for the new pitch was subject to a detailed archaeological survey. This involved digging several deep trenches to look for historic remains. As a result of this our start date was delayed until the end of October 2007. READ MORE |

| Kimbolton School Give Heydour The Green Light |
|
 |
| We are extremely proud to announce that we have recently received the order to construct a new full size synthetic grass hockey pitch and training area at Kimbolton School in Cambridgeshire. Works to construct the heavy duty LSR Sand Dressed pitch and training area which include earthworks, drainage, base works, fencing, floodlighting, spectator areas and landscaping is due to start at the end of August 2008. The new facility will be constructed on what is currently agricultural land and will include additional natural grass sports pitches and cricket wickets. We worked closely with the Bursar, Mr Edward Valletta throughout the design and specification stage of the new facility and also assisted the school to gain planning permission. We were always aware that we were competing with other companies from the start and we were pleased that Edward adopted a precise evaluation process before awarding the contract. This means that the school will be getting exactly what they want whilst allowing us to provide ongoing design input to ensure that the final specification is to the highest standard. READ MORE |
