The wet mild weather we are experiencing means turf grass is susceptible to outbreaks of fusarium. We have a range of fungicides to treat and prevent fusarium.
Moss is also prevalent in these conditions and we recommend you apply an approved moss killer or an application of iron to your turf.
As far as pests go, now is the time to effectively control chafer grubs and leatherjackets that cause damage to greens and pitches. Nematodes attack chafer and leatherjacket larvae which are near the surface during the autumn months.
The winter sports season is well under way and many of us are busy with markings and autumn fertiliser programmes. Wet conditions have delayed renovations on summer surfaces for some groundsmen, resulting in a late demand for seed and loam.
