10 replies - Last reply at 17th May 12 01:15:09 - Iknow this is a forum for Groundsmen/Greenkeepers but been honest i dont go on footy forums as its the same bla bla all the time. Listening in the back ground over the last few days and i can see the newspapers getting quieter and quieter regarding the English team as they believe your no hoper's. Well been honest i now think that the English team will be more dangerous that ever and without those clowns from fleet street breading down the footballers necks and a no loose situation i believe it could be

Good Price for a Marquis Mk 6

6 replies - Last reply at 17th May 12 01:11:52 - All, I was looking at a Marquis Mk 6, 24", 1998 with Kabuto GS160 engine earlier today. Cylinder is good - plently of meat and fairly sharp. I am thinking it will be a good mower for our cricket square - agree? Anything to watch out for when buying these and what do people think would be a fair price - it was hard to get to but looked sound although very dirty/dusty? Thks, Christopher

4 replies - Last reply at 16th May 12 22:12:22 - Having a bit of trouble the engine started to run very slowly and sometimes stop, I changed the fuel filter (Kubota 3 cyl diesel ) and bled the system. On occasions it will run for long periods then the old problem returns and then magically goes away. Would it be worth changing the electric fuel lift pump.? I'm pretty sure the fuel and the system is clean. Can a pump behave in this on/off manner, thanks in anticipation.

7 replies - Last reply at 16th May 12 19:53:10 - Hey, just looking or wee bit of advice. We have developed what seems to be like a green algae on our greens. You notice it when you ate a look where your foot print has been. We have had a really wet period of around 6-8 months. And we have had a lot of water on greens for log periods of time and I guess this leads to stagnant water. This in turns can lead to bacteria growing and developing this green algae appearance. I am right in thinking that this leads to water from repelling through the soi

2 replies - Last reply at 15th May 12 14:24:57 - I'm about to move into a house which has,on the face of it, a reasonable 250 sq.metres rear lawn. Closer inspection, however, shows that there is a great deal of thatch and plenty of moss- the whole thing is very springy. I assume I need to kill off the moss before I start on the thatch, but given the size of the lawn, which products are available to me as a mere amateur? The garden is southwest facing, and is not overshadowed. Once the moss is dead, should I then scarify the lot? I suppose I should hire a h

Slitter, Spiker Roller Combo

2 replies - Last reply at 15th May 12 00:51:38 - Can anyone advise me of a UK stockist for a roller / spiker combo. As a visual it looks like a roller but has trriangles sticking out of it to spike at the same time. Not to be confused with the roller oneside then flip it over and its a spiker type. The old bladed spiker I have is a little tempermental and I am reluctant to allow other people to use it, Whilst this method may not be ideal, it will mean others at the ground will help with decompaction etc. Many thanks
