4 replies - Last reply at 9th Feb 12 19:02:08 - Hi Does anyone know if you can get the smooth turf tyres that are on the mk5 rotorake to fit onto the mk4 version. I tend to find that the current turf tyres can scuff the turf when turning on bowling greens. Any help or advice appreciated, Many thanks, Iestyn John

8 replies - Last reply at 9th Feb 12 17:16:43 - The club have asked for my views on losing 2 grass courts for an extra 2 hard courts so then we would have 7 hard courts 3 grass. Problem is the demand for courts all year round for coaching, team coaching matches and then the need for players to have friendly games, with 5 grass I rest 1 for a few weeks then after club tournament all grass courts are open because of demand for courts, I have so far said I think the standard of the grass courts would suffer uneven bounce mainly due to the extra usage the gr

25 replies - Last reply at 9th Feb 12 15:52:10 - I am interested to see the general situation with playability of courses through this recent wet period. From our point of view, we are based on clay soil and although drainage improvements are ongoing, we are currently experiencing some very muddy conditions. We have remained open throughout this period but am interested to hear how other course managers are dealing with the current conditions. Some of the measures we carry out include the application of Carbendazim (pre wet weather) , roping off wet a

Decompaction

0 replies - Our pitches get played on right throughout the year and in the worst of weather, particularly in UK and Ireland. During summer repair work we use vertidrain type machines to decompact the surfaces. Is this the correct approach?Normally sand is applied at the same time and brushed in. What level of decompaction are we achieving with this procedure? Has it ever been measured? Is it temporary? Would hollow coring be a better approach? Jim
