72 replies - Last reply at 1st Dec 11 17:29:07 - In a recent thread about PH, there was mention of using crushed glass to treat for worm casts. Having tagged on to this re my problem with worm casts I was swiftly told not to hijack the thread. So I started a new thread on crushed glass and received a small response. So I am starting a new thread on WORM CASTS in the hope that those of you who don't have this problem can tell the rest of us what you are doing to suppress the casting worms. Some of you might still be using Chlordane, but I don't expec

Have lots of foxes at the ground too but I imagine it is badgers after leatherjackets. Has anyone got any cheap suggestions to help or any experience of this? Have had

Anthracnose

3 replies - Last reply at 13th Aug 11 14:13:36 - Hi All, The field at the school where I work has again, as last year at around the same time been infected(or so it seems) by something. I had a large sample send away for testing last year and it came back all clear. I keep looking at photos on here and in books because it is really bugging me as to what maybe the cause, in patches it covers 60% of the field is this anthracnose, compaction or something else?. Any help would be great, I also have more photos but they don't show it that well. Gary PITCH

Red sorrel in cricket outfield

1 reply - Last reply at 4th Aug 11 20:54:34 - Our cricket outfield is increasingly being taken over by red sorrel. Can anyone suggest how we can get rid of it? A bit of internet research suggests that spraying with 2-4D will do the trick, but I wondered if there was anything we could do that doesn't involve spraying (we are on a common and get lots of people walking across the outfield)? Thanks!

10 replies - Last reply at 11th Jul 11 23:03:10 - Hello all Are any of you guys very knowledgeable with trees? I have encountered a some problems today, across a number of trees, as part of my routine ground inspections. There are clear signs of vandalism (scratching graffitti etc), but there is also damage to the bark, which i'm not sure is due to vandalism. I do have some concerns about the health of these trees in particular as last year, 'something' was sprayed around the tree bases - it was claimed to be Glyphosate, but i'm not so sure, and have
