Granular Iron & Turf Hardeners
When applied as a granule the formulation of the iron imparts particular characteristics which are reflected in the longevity of the colour obtained and the overall merit derived by the plant.
Overuse of ferrous sulphate can lock up soil nutrients particularly when used in conjunction with ammonium sulphate fertilisers can also depress the redox potential and stimulate the production of hydrogen sulphide, this can in turn lead to black layer.
Correct cultural practices should be used to prevent anaerobic conditions and promote healthy growth. Further advise on prevention of black layer and the build up of hydrogen sulphide is available from a technical sales advisor.
