Lawn sand is the old, tried and trusted remedy for moss. It can also be used to harden grass off against disease and acts as a turf tonic offering a rapid green up to turf!
Iron sulphate also helps to reduce the pH level of soil which in turn encourages finer grass species and helps deter worms from casting.
Lawn sand is a mix of one part sulphate of iron, three parts sulphate of ammonia and twenty parts dry sand. The sand acts as a carrier for the active ingredients iron & ammonia, thus facilitating even application.
Application
Apply at 35-70g per sq m for lawn green up.
Apply at 90-105g per sq m at high rate (please be aware this may blacken moss).

Application Tips
It is important to ensure that lawn sand is spread evenly over the turf.
Ideally you should apply lawn sand on a dry and calm day
For best results apply in damp conditions or when rain is expected.
Leave mower boxes off for 2-3 days to allow granules to settle into turf.
Over-dosing or applying lawn sand when the soil is too dry will cause the sward to burn/ scorch.
Lawn Sand should not be applied to wood or stone as staining may occur.
