Herbicides
Casoron G is a broad spectrum granular herbicide containing 6.75% dichlobenil. This active ingredient is absorbed by plant roots and, according to the application rate, will kill annual and perennial weeds and grasses.
Casoron G comes in a 25kg bag.
Uses
For selective weed control in amenity vegetation, roses and ornamental shrubs and trees.
For total weed control on land not intended to bear vegetation; paths, driveways, around buildings, under fence lines and along wall footings.
Mode of Action
When applied to the soil, Casoron G is locked into the top 5cm where it then affects established and germinating plant material. Progressive increases in the rate of use will broaden the spectrum of weeds controlled and lengthen residual control.
Advantages
* Versatile weedkiller for pre and post emergence weed control
* Varying application rates give selective or total weed control
* Gives season-long persistence
* Easy to use, requires no water
* Indifferent to weather conditions
* DEFRA approved for use in or near water
Application can be varied from 56kg to 125kg per hectare according to weed spectrum; equivalent to 56-125g per 10square metres. See table on following pages for weeds controlled.
1. Avoid local overdosing, especially around the base of plant stems.
2. Under certain circumstances leaf margin chlorosis may occur but this has been shown not to affect growth.
3. Where mulching is practised, apply before mulching.
4. DO NOT APPLY:
* In or around glasshouses or near hops.
* When plant foliage is wet as granules may then lodge on leaves or in leaf axils and cause damage.
* To snow covered ground.
* To frozen or waterlogged ground.
* To areas under-planted with bulbs, or containing herbaceous stock or annual plants.
* To sites within 18 months of sowing or re-planting. If the site has been cultivated within this period and herbicide residues incorporated into the soil, activity of the herbicide may be prolonged and result in a check to certain of the following ornamental species.
* Casoron G as a pre-planting treatment.
5. DO NOT disturb treated soil by hoeing etc., or weed control may be impaired.
6. Ensure granules do not fall or blow onto areas other than those intended for treatment.
