Application Timing
Apply at the first sign of disease. SCORPIO® can also be used in a preventative control programme.
Rainfastness
Once the spray application has dried on the leaf surface, rainfall will not interfere with its ability to control disease, due to the locked in reservoir of protection being created. SCORPIO® has been proven to be rainfast within 2 hrs of application. It has been proven that SCORPIO® can be applied at low temperatures, as long as the contents of the tank/knapsack remain as a liquid, and that there is no snow cover.
Use Areas
SCORPIO® may be used on established turf including:
Golf courses - Parks
Institutional, commercial and residential lawns
Municipal grounds
Cemeteries
Sports fields
Unique Mesostemic Mode of Action
The advantages of this are:
The unique chemistry at work in SCORPIO® defines a new class of fungicides: oximinacetates.
Oximinacetates have a high affinity with the plant surface and is absorbed readily by the waxy layers of the plant.
It redistributes at the plant surface by superficial vapour movement and penetrates the plant tissue.
There is little or no movement within the plant’s vascular system so SCORPIO® becomes embedded or locked-in, providing long lasting, weather-proof disease protection.
Mixing
Add the required quantity of SCORPIO® to the half-filled spray tank with the agitation system in operation and then fill to the required level. Continue agitation at all times during spraying and stoppages until the tank is completely empty. Spray immediately after mixing. Wash out all spray equipment thoroughly with water immediately after use.
Scorpio as part of a Disease Control Management Programme
SCORPIO® can be applied as part of a disease management programme. It is a perfect partner for Chipco® Green which contains the active ingredient Iprodione. When used in a programmed approach through the year (with Chipco® Green applied in the Winter with its contact properties) and SCORPIO® in the Spring/ Autumn (with its systemic properties), you are utilising two actives in two different fungicide groups, both affecting the fungi by different methods. This means the fungi will be controlled within a disease control management programme. Bayer Environmental Science are a professional organisation in the amenity industry and we provide the following advice on the use of all strobilurin products: SCORPIO® belongs to the strobilurin class of chemistry and certain fungal pathogens
are known to develop resistance to strobilurin products, if used repeatedly. A recommended programme would be to rotate SCORPIO® with Chipco® Green (containing actives from different chemical groups/modes of action) as advised above.
NB. There have been no cases of fungicide resistance with the strobilurins in managed amenity turf in the UK and we look for this to continue with careful stewardship.
Application in low temperatures
It has been proven that SCORPIO® can be applied at low temperatures, as long as the contents of the tank/knapsack remain as a liquid, and that there is no snow cover.
