Loram 24 Herbicide - MAPP no. 13951

Active Ingredients: 240g/l of Picloram.

Loram 24 is a persistent systemic selective herbicide for the control of a wide range of deep-rooted perennial and other weeds on land that is not intended for cropping.

Loram 24 herbicide is particularly effective against Japanese Knotweed (Fallopia japonica) and Ragwort. Japanese knotweed is a member of the Polygonum family and a distant relative of Knotgrass. It is a highly invasive and troublesome weed that will grow anywhere, unfortunately damaging underground pipes, drains, foundations, concrete, tarmac and buildings in the process.

Note: "It is an offence to plant or otherwise encourage" the growth of Japanese Knotweed. With no natural predators or enemies it will spread unchecked by means of rhizomes (underground stems). One centimetre of rhizome is sufficient to generate a new plant that can grow 10cm per day up to a height of 3m. Additionally the rhizomes will spread 7m and reach a depth of 2m! Therefore physical control of this "monster" is very difficult, time consuming and expensive. Loram 24 herbicide offers a very cost-effective solution to this problem. The reason is that not only does it kill difficult weeds and brushwood but also remains extremely persistent and active against re-growth for much of the growing season.

Loram 24 Herbicide General Information and Application Rates
The product is designed for use on land not intended for cropping such as: roadsides, grassland (with no agricultural or horticultural value) as well as road and railway embankments. The material is absorbed via leaves and roots and translocated to the growing points. It is sensible not to apply the material close to the bases of trees and shrubs that are present on the site to be treated.

Loram 24 herbicide has minimal effect on the growth of grasses and the application rates are as follows:

Weed Species and Application Rate Litres per Hectare:
Creeping Thistle, Hogweed, Plantains, White Clover - 2.8L per Ha

Burdock, Cats Ear, Common Birds Foot Trefoil, Common Chickweed, Common Nettle, Colts Foot, Cotton Thistle, Creeping Cinquefoil, Creeping Buttercup, Dandelion, Docks, Field Bindweed, Hawkweed,
JAPANESE KNOTWEED, Mugwort, Rosebay Willowherb, Silverweed, Tansy, Yarrow. - 4.2 - 5.6L per Ha

COMMON RAGWORT, Wild Mignonette - 8.4L per Ha

Bracken, Brambles - 11.2L per Ha

Time of Application
Throughout the spring period with the following water volumes:
Knapsack sprayer with boom at 450 litres per ha.
Power sprayer (as a drench) at 1000 to 2000 litres per ha.
For smaller areas use a knapsack sprayer at 100mls of Loram per 12 litres of water.

Suggested Areas of Use
Industrial sites, motorway and road embankments and on railway areas covered by ballast. Additionally it may be used to treat problem weeds such as Japanese Knotweed and Ragwort on grassed areas where a total weedkiller such as Glyphosate would kill everything.
