Spray Dyes and Bout Markers
Spray dyes, also called spray indicators, colour the fluid allowing the operator to see where the spray has been placed. The spray dye breaks down when subject to UV and therefore disappears within 24-48 hours according to the concentration.
Bout marker fluid is applied through a bout marker (also called foam markers); these simplify the accurate distribution of chemicals where there are no tramlines or obvious rows to follow. Foam markers leave a series of foam blobs down the field in line with the end of the spray boom. On the return run the end of the boom is simply kept in line with the blobs to avoid any under or overlapping.
