he Greenkeepers Training Committee is pleased to welcome Askham Bryan College, York onto its Quality Assured Scheme.

David Golding, GTC's Education Director, in announcing Askham Bryan College as a GTC Quality Assured Centre says, "Askham Bryan College has a very long tradition in delivering quality greenkeeper education and training programmes through its dedicated turf team.

The GTC held many of its meetings at the college during the 70's and 80's during which period the Committee was administered, voluntarily, by the late Nick Bisset, the infamous turf lecturer at the college and still remembered so fondly by all who new him.

More recently, Stuart Green, one of the turf team at the college left to become BIGGA's Head of Member Learning.

David added, golf clubs in Yorkshire, the North of England and beyond have benefited from the support of the Askham Bryan turf staff and we see an even stronger partnership between the golf clubs and college staff through the GTC Quality Assurance accreditation".

Steve Prinn, Sports Turf Lecturer and Deputy Section Head, is delighted that the college has gained GTC Quality Assurance accreditation and looks forward to the renewed partnership with the GTC and the opportunity to work alongside the GTC, the employers and students in ensuring the high quality of greenkeeping and sportsturf education in the U.K.
