What started out in 1879 as Sunderland and District Teacher's Association Football Club became Sunderland AFC when, after a year, non-teachers were allowed to join. Today, the Black Cats boast one of the best Academies in the country, with the highest possible rating in the Premier League's assessment

Head Groundsman, Glenn Campbell and his team, in addition to maintaining the turf, have the task of ensuring the grounds are kept immaculate. Faced with the problem of falling leaves from trees around the car park in autumn and litter blown across the area throughout the year, they ordered two Little Wonder ProVac self-propelled vacuum sweepers on the recommendation of their Northumberland dealers Greenlay.

The first job in the mornings is the clear up across the car park and around the kitchen areas, before anyone else arrives, so speed is of the essence. For Glenn there is no doubt they made the right choice with the Little Wonders providing the power, speed, capacity and suction needed to get the job done quickly. "We've had the Little Wonder ProVacs for about four months now," says Glenn "and they have been ideal for our purposes through the autumn and winter months, with the lads able to get the car park area and around the buildings cleared very quickly each morning. They find them very comfortable to use and easily manoeuvred. The size is perfect for the area and they really are excellent for the job."

The self-propelled ProVac will work at speeds up to 4.2 mph forwards and 1.8 mph in reverse. Power comes from a 9hp Honda GX270 engine driving industry-leading suction to clear all kinds of debris into the 74.47 gallon/217L capacity bag. Nozzle height is automatically adjustable and there is an easy toe tap dump valve to switch to forwards and backwards. A windshield diverts dust to ground level for additional operator comfort. Glenn was also impressed with the price of the machines saying they offered a great deal for the money.
