During the Spoga+Gafa 2010 exhibition, held in Cologne from the 5th to the 7th September this year, Honda took legal action against 2 companies exhibiting counterfeit Honda products - specifically, general purpose engines mounted on tillers and shredders.
The court granted preliminary injunctions against
1. Zhejiang Robot Industrial Trading (Zhejiang/China)
2. Yongkang Gerui Machinery (Zhejiang/China)
This is a temporary measure to prohibit sales and marketing of the counterfeit products until a final verdict is pronounced. Preliminary injunctions are only given when the court is convinced that there is a clear case of infringement.
Honda will continue to pursue, by all legal means, the manufacturers and distributors of imitation products in order to protect the market, and in particular end-users, from confusion.
