Ransomes Sales rep to represent Wales in seniors Tournament
Garry Huggett, area sales representative with Ransomes Jacobsen dealer, Burrows Grass Machinery in Stafford, has been selected to represent Wales in the Senior Men's Home Internationals. The matches against England Scotland and Ireland, take place from 18th-20th September at Southerndown Golf Club in Bridgend.
Garry, who was previously selected for this competition back in 2009 when it was played over in Ireland and where Wales finished in third place, has a handicap of 4 and is a member of Llanymynech Golf Club in Pant near Oswestry in Shropshire.
Commenting on his selection Garry said, "After a three year gap, I'm delighted to win my place in the Wales Team. Playing at home in Wales at Southerndown is very special. The competition will be very strong with Ireland being the favourites as they have two former British Amateur Champions in their team.
"Fitness will play a part as the competition is over 36 holes per day with foursomes in the morning and single matches in the afternoon."
Gary's home club, Llanymynech has an interesting claim. On the 4th hole, the tee is located in Wales and the green is over the border in England. The 5th and 6th holes remain in England before returning to Wales on the 7th tee! It is also the course where Ian Woosnam learned to play golf at the age of 9.
Ransomes Jacobsen is a Textron Inc (NYSE:TXT) company and more information on the product offering can be found at www.ransomesjacobsen.com.
