Robert goes to the top man for ground advice
The weather may be taxing cricket's groundsmen at the moment but the man who tends Bolton-le-Sands' wicket has been to the top for advice.
Robert Clarkson had the chance to pick the brains of Mick Hunt, the groundsman at Lord's Test ground on a recent holiday in London.
And Robert, who has been looking after Sands' ground for 15 years, was impressed with what he saw on his tour.
He said: "The outfield looked the like the square on a Northern League ground - it was unbelievably perfect.
"Mick has worked there all his working life and had seven people helping him! He said he was working with biggest golf green in London."
Despite the weather not being ideal, Robert was given a glimpse of the square and a look at the technology used.
"They have a £25,000 hover cover which was amazing. They got it on very quickly and any water disappeared almost immediately."
Robert also plays for Sands, alongisde son Mark, who joined him at Lord's with Jackie, Robert's wife.
