Total-play for natural and non-turf solutions
With countless 'freshers' eagerly embarking on their University careers, sports surface specialist total-play Ltd is celebrating the completion of works at renowned universities at either end of the country.
At The University of Essex, the total-play team has recently completed the installation of a two lane, 33m practice nets facility built using its ECB approved tp365 non-turf system.
The spec included a fully enclosed, bespoke netting system based on the company's HD Protection Tunnel 'cocoon' netting system to effectively provide an 'indoor practice system outside'.
Meanwhile, in the North East, the team has constructed a new natural turf cricket square at Newcastle University's Cochrane Park Sports Ground.
Total-play's Business Development Manager, James Coney, says: "We're delighted to have been commissioned to undertake works at two such renowned seats of Higher Education.
In the past, we've done a lot of work for Independent Schools, but Universities are a relatively new client base for us.
I think the fact that we're starting to get more enquiries from Universities in relation to state-of-the-art cricket facilities reflects the importance of sport and extra-curricular activities to student life."
