Skilled Football Groundsperson

Location: Portsmouth
Hours: 37.5 full time, includes evening & weekend work as required
Salary: Competitive

We have a position as a Football Groundsperson available within the club working across all our sites and reporting to the Grounds Manager.

Main Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Curation of all playing surfaces
• Hard and soft landscape maintenance & creation
• Carrying out general grounds duties
• Care of machinery and equipment
• Attendance and preparation on event days
• Use, handling & application of substances under COSHH regulations
• Operation of many types of grounds equipment and machinery
• Operation of advanced Irrigation Systems

Operational proficiency requirements & previous experience

• Proficient in the use of all types of Sportsturf machinery including tractors
• Material and chemical substance application, handling and storage
• Basic mechanical understanding of all fundamental sports turf machinery
• Previously engaged at a professional football club in a similar role would be an advantage
• High level of agronomic understanding

Qualification level

• Qualified with an NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Management or equivalent qualification
• PA1, PA2 and 6 Spraying certificates
• Full Drivers Licence
• Any additional agronomic, mechanical, or operation proficiency qualifications are advantageous
