Reporting to the Estates Manager, the postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the 32-acre site at St James Senior Boys’ School in Ashford.
You will be proficient in the use of grounds care equipment and operating pedestrian and ride on equipment, tractor mounted implements. The knowledge to undertake playing surface aeration, line marking, fertilizing, brushing, top dressing, seeding, weeding, watering and general maintenance, renovation and repair of all grass, planted, landscaped and synthetic areas. Technical knowledge of industry standards and resources is essential.
The successful candidate will possess relevant work experience in horticulture and turf management and be responsible for the upkeep of grounds, gardens, playing fields and sports surfaces.
There may also be a need for the post holder to drive the School minibus as part of being a member of the Estates team. A D1 category on the post holders' licence whilst not essential, would be advantageous. MIDAS training will be provided.
Normal hours: 7.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
