Wolves stars, past and present, including Pitchcare's John Richards, recently came together to give a very special fan a 100th birthday surprise!

Alife received a telegram from the Queen and a visit from three Wolves legends, before going on a tour of the Compton Road Training Ground and enjoying lunch.

Alfie's grandson, Chris Hartley, describes his grandad as his own legend and explained: "I wrote to Wolves telling them about his 100th birthday and hoped they might get the players to sign a birthday card, or something along those lines."

"We never expected anything like this!"

"John Richards, Willie Carr, Ted Farmer and all of the team at Wolves TV were absolutely incredible. Every single one of the current squad came over to shake Alfie's hand and wish him a happy birthday and even sang to him. Then Nuno presented a birthday cake! Honestly, they couldn't have been nicer."

"Alfie keeps telling everyone it was the best day of his life. This is why we love Wolves and always will. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
