Peel Football Club has received a grant of £9,000 for pitch maintenance machinery.

The grant is from the Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund, which provides grants towards developing new or refurbished grassroots football facilities.

The money has enabled the club to buy a new tractor, mower and pitch care equipment to ensure the club can maintain its own pitch to the highest standard.

Neil Cain, treasurer of Peel AFC, said: "We are extremely grateful to the Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund for their generous assistance with the purchase of our new pitch maintenance machinery."

"Our club is lucky to have experienced, qualified groundsmen who give their time to maintain the pitch."

"This grant provides them with the appropriate machinery to ensure that our pitch is maintained in great condition despite being used intensively by our mens, ladies, junior and veteran sides throughout the season."

"We are sure this will encourage a continued increase in participation throughout our club."

The club worked in partnership with the Isle of Man FA to secure the £9,000 grant.
