A real beauty of a Beast
By Lance Bassett
Claymore Grass Machinery are launching a new state-of-the art MSV product range from Masport which they are confident will be a huge hit with specialist dealers, jazzing up showrooms with the latest colour sensation and many innovative features.
Affectionately known as 'The Beast', the new mower has an alloy chassis with a 19"/48cm cut and dual 'MowZone' feature enabling the machine to cut inaccessible edges with its four blade cutting disc.
Designed to be tough but with appealing soft lines, the MSV uses contemporary styling with the emphasis on operator comfort and mower performance.
'ZoneStart' recoil is positioned for convenience and safety and the Ergo Handle is fully adjustable and fitted with a cushioned comfort grip.
A hard shell large capacity catcher is supplied as standard with a collector 'Full' indicator, and on some models an 'ErgoShift' system on the handles offers easy emptying and the capability of instant storage in restricted areas.
The rustproof deck sports wide 'mag' style wheels with a wash port for effortless cleaning of the underside of the chassis.
Commenting on the new addition to his range Claymore MD Keith Christian said, "Seldom has a mower felt or looked like this one. Complete new thinking went into the design and it shows. The mower raises the standard of operator comfort and its colour and styling is a real show stopper."
Finished in aubergine, the model 550 'Beast' is powered by a Briggs & Stratton Custom XVS 50 5hp engine and retails at £415.
A self-propelled version is also available at £599.
Masport have also included in the range a '3in1' model powered by a 6hp Briggs & Stratton XVS engine. This unit has a grass collection capability or can be used as a mulching mower. A third option of spreading the grass clippings is also designed into the 'Beast'. The 3in1 unit retails at £439, or with Touch 'n' Mow starting at £499.
All prices include Vat.
