A Thank You from Football Aid

Football Aid, the beautiful game's favourite football charity, would like to say thank you to all the groundstaff of the Football Aid Clubs for their support in 2005. With their help, it has been our most successful year to date, raising in excess of half a million pounds for a wide range of charities and voluntary organisations.

Founded in 2001, Football Aid is the brainchild of Scottish businessman Craig Paterson, who devised Football Aid as a fundraising initiative to find a cure for diabetes, by allowing football fans the chance to follow in their footballing heroes' footsteps and play at the stadiums graced by their idols.

Key to the success of any Football Aid event is our use of the pitch so, quite simply, without the dedication and support of the groundsmen, there would be no Football Aid. Simply by granting Football Aid access to the hallowed turf, supporters dreams come true and Football Aid continues to fundraise towards diabetes research projects and charities nominated for funding by Football Aid's partner clubs and authorities.

We wish to demonstrate our gratitude through this article and by sharing with you recognition for national awards Football Aid has recently received. Diabetes UK have acknowledged the research Football Aid is currently funding to be the single most important project they are involved in towards finding a cure for juvenile diabetes while in the Business Excellence Awards 2005, Football Aid was the winner of the 'Business in the Community' category. All groundstaff have a share in these awards as we have achieved them together.

Football Aid believes everyone in football can be proud of what we have accomplished together so far and hope that all the groundsmen of the Clubs can give their continued support in 2006. Together, we can grow and develop the fundraising possibilities of the Football Aid products, raising further funds for those in need.

Again, from everyone at Football Aid, a big thank you! Well done!
