You would be forgiven for thinking no eight metre triple deck roller mower could be this simple to operate. The Wessex RMX-800 8M Tri-Deck Roller Mower is just that. No electro-hydraulics are required, there are no electric clutches, wing control is independent and operational with one wing lifted and the folding wings can cut gradients from -30° to +30°, whilst the middle deck remains on level ground.

There is independent float on all decks and at the end of the day you have the benefit of independent suspension for smooth road travel. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. At the start of the day you could be looking at cutting 40 acres per hour and the RMX will take that on with ease, leaving a premium cut and superb results every time.

High output, fast forward speeds and high blade tip speeds combine to turn what appears to be a leviathan into a speed machine, with fourteen rotors turning in unison to let this RMX glide over the turf at twelve miles per hour. This and the working width of eight metres accounts for reduced fuel consumption, saving up to 50% in fuel costs.

For turf growers, polo pitches or anyone cutting large acreage that is a big saving while still achieving a superb finish. The cutting height range is 10mm to 100mm and weighing in at about 3,465kg the power required is from 110hp. Adding to the saving is the reduced maintenance of the machine when you consider its overall construction and its double taper roller bearings on all rollers.

Just add in the turf tyres for minimal ground compaction and the alternative choices of 5.6m and 6.8m working widths and it's hard to see why you would choose anything else. The RMX-800 8M Tri-Deck Roller Mower from Wessex International. Wessex International: 01264 345870 www.wessexintl.com
