Our current climate allows moss to grow quickly in the spring, suffocating the lawn as a result. Dethatching or scarifying has become a common and natural way of caring for the lawn. Scarifying is a fast and efficient way to remove the majority of the moss and other weeds from the lawn and it allows the grass to grow into a thick lawn.
Scarifying is the process of mechanically raking and removing moss and other weeds from the lawn with the use of vertically rotating blades. The mechanical part of scarifying is quite simple: all the operator has to do is pass his machine across the full surface of the lawn. The downside is that the treatment leaves a thick layer of moss on the lawn. Cleaning up that thick bed of garden waste is a time-consuming and cumbersome job.
Some scarifiers are equipped with a collector unit for depositing the raked up moss. But because moss has an airy and voluminous structure, those collector units are filled in no time and must be emptied every 10 metres.
Very often the moss is raked together, loaded on a wheelbarrow and removed. This is a true nightmare for professional garden contractors, as dethatching forms a major part of their work during the early weeks in spring.
ELIET'S innovation continues with the launch in the UK of their ALL-IN-ONE Scarifying solution with the NEW E600 Compactor. This professional SCARIFIER not only removes moss and thatch from the lawn, it also collects and compacts it. The patented removal and compaction technique of the E600 provides the solution for the classic disadvantage of quickly filling collector units. Compressing the moss in the collector unit reduces the number of times the number of times the unit needs to be emptied.
Important product features include: easy adjustable roller spacing settings for optimal collection in all conditions, self-sharpening, Permanently Sharp Blades™, higher discharge for better compaction in the collector box and rubber coated drive roller for less noise and less damage in transport.
Scarifying becomes as easy as mowing, because now the job is neatly done in only one passage, saving time and energy and offering professional garden contractors a more efficient work method, hence lower operational costs on this underrated lawn treatment.
OVERSEEDING-COMBI MACHINES .....
With the DZC 750 overseeder-combi machine, Eliet is offering an affordable and efficient option for renovating old lawns, with a visible result in less than a month. In addition is the DZC 550: an even more compact machine with even better user ergonomics, making overseeding even easier and particularly, more affordable for professionals.
EASY PASSAGE, with a working width of only 550 mm, the DZC 550 has no trouble passing through the smallest of garden gates. Its compactness also assisting easier turning on the work site. In addition, the machine boasts excellent weight balance. In a manner of speaking, it could be controlled with only two fingers.
COLLECTION UNIT. The smaller version of the overseeder combi machine still follows the principle of cutting tiny grooves for planting the new seeds. In the DZC 750, the green waste was removed with a discharge jack. In the DZC 550, the blades throw the waste to the front, into the waste collector unit - removing the necessity for the operator to collect it.
VARIABLE DRIVING SPEEDS, just like the existing DZC 750, the DZC 550 is equipped with a hydrostatic drive system, allowing the operator to vary driving speed in accordance with the condition of the soil and the lawn.
SPLIT ROLLER. With a wide roller mounted at the rear of the machine firmly pressing the grooves to ensure that none of the seed goes to waste. However, the roller on the DZC 550 is split in two, thereby each part can be operated separately. The traction on either wheel can be released, making turning manoeuvres much easier.
OPERATOR COMFORT for the operator was a focal point in the design of the DZC 550. An example is the automatic joint activation of the blades and the seed container, reducing the required interventions by the operator to a minimum.
