Laurence Pithie, Director of Maintenance at American Golf UK and a group of his course superintendents from the south of England visited the Fairways Group head office near Glasgow recently to evaluate the products offered by Wiedenmann UK and Sportsground Ltd.

Commenting at the end of the visit, Laurence Pithie said, "We have a responsibility to ensure that we remain at the forefront of modern golf course management practices in order to undertake maintenance regimes that have the minimum impact on our paying customers. We are constantly looking for new techniques and equipment that enhance our standard course maintenance procedures.

"This away day was a superb opportunity for me and my team to evaluate the expanding range of equipment being marketed by the Fairways Group. We were obviously interested in the latest developments associated with the Wiedenmann aeration products, but were also shown other products such as the new Groom-It greens sand brush, the powerful Whisper Twister leaf blower and the ProCast top dresser.

Wiedenmann UK is an established name in the turf care markets of the United Kingdom and Ireland following the introduction of the successful Terra Spike range of deep aerators. The company supplies its products through a network of stocking dealers and attends the major turf exhibitions to support dealer activity.
