Following on from their success at the FA's National Football Centre, Desso DLW scored another coup when its latest 3rd Generation development, DD Challenge Pro, was selected for installation at the National Sports Centre at Crystal Palace. Made from their own unique monofilament football fibre, DD Challenge Pro was selected for its unique ability to maintain its playing characteristics year after year, unlike many other types of artificial grass that lead to a deterioration of playing characteristics as they age.
The surface was partly funded by Crystal Palace FC who will be basing their academy there. Dominic Jordan, Vice Chairman of the Club says 'We looked at the leading suppliers of artificial turf and felt that only Desso DLW were able to offer us a surface that was suitable for both our professionals and youngsters as well as being durable with excellent long-term playing characteristics. The facility will be used both by the club as well as the community and I believe that it will provide us with the ideal surface for all standards of play. All in all, I feel we've got the perfect pitch for us.'
DD Challenge Pro has already been installed at Real Madrid's training centre and two DD Challenge Pro pitches, one in Norway and one in Germany, are FIFA 2 star recommended. Truly, this is the surface choice of the professionals and for clubs at all levels who want their youngsters to learn and train on a reliable and safe surface.
