Ashes Won On Lindum Turf

IMG_0219.JPGStaff at Lindum Turf has double cause for celebration for not only has England won the Ashes but the final Test was played out on Lindum turf.

Thirteen thousand square metres of the company's LT5 Ryetees turf, a ryegrass, smooth stalked meadow grass and fescue mixture were delivered to the Brit Oval in February and laid on the newly constructed outfield by J. Mallinson Ormskirk Ltd. Following rapid rooting, the Surrey team were practising on the famous pitch by March.

According to Lindum's MD Stephen Fell everyone in the company is absolutely thrilled. "We've all been glued to the television in what has been a nail biting weekend," he says. "The turf looked superb and all praise to Head Groundsman Bill Gordon for staging this exciting climax to the series."

Lindum have also supplied turf to Headingley, Glamorgan, Old Trafford and Gloucester this year as part of a major upgrading programme funded by the ECB.
