Bailoy Products Limited is set to launch its next-generation Gemini-Trident Irrigation (GTI) software at Harrogate Week 2010.

Boasting an array of new features and a fresh new look, the designer and manufacturer of this already renowned golf irrigation system says that GTI V3.00 is the first stepping-stone in a series of upgrades to keep GTI software at the cutting-edge and give greenkeepers greater control and flexibility.

Key to this is GTI V3.00's compatibility with Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems - an industry first for software-based irrigation systems that cements Bailoy's status as a market leader in its field.

In practical terms, Bailoy says GTI V3.00 lays the foundations for greater user control over more sprinkler stations from fewer CSG cables, making the system even simpler and quicker to program and operate. As the software upgrades are phased in, GTI is set to become one of the highest specification irrigation systems available.

This reduction in ground cabling also significantly reduces costs - something that is key to the success and popularity of the GTI system, which is designed to dramatically improve efficiency for a reduction in running costs.

The two systems - Gemini and Trident - couple a computerised central control system with decoder field hardware for effective and economic irrigation. Suitable for both new-build and retrofit golf projects as well as sports and amenity turf applications, GTI's state-of-the-art management and maintenance system ensures today's greenkeepers and groundsmen can make optimum use of every last drop of this precious resource.

As well as accurately monitoring where water is going, how much is being applied and to which sprinklers, the software offers further features and reporting functions including radio remote control, water-flow management and detailed system diagnostics. The Visual Irrigation Programme graphics (VIP) feature, which enables the Gemini and Trident controllers to display a full-colour map of the golf course, pitch or court layout, allows users to review and revise on-screen schedules and programs quickly and easily.

The Wisley Golf Club in Surrey has become the latest high-profile venue to install GTI and, what's more, will be one of the first to benefit from brand new V3.00 software. This exclusive private members' club joins the likes of Royal Birkdale Golf Club, Manchester United and Chelsea Football Clubs, Lord's cricket ground, York Racecourse and the All England Lawn Tennis Club, home of the Wimbledon Championships, already reaping the benefits of GTI irrigation.

Bailoy's development director Frank Beks says the team is looking forward to unveiling its latest software at the show. "We're delighted to be launching GTI V3.00 at Harrogate Week," he comments. "This is a major step forward for us and paves the way for further developments planned for 2010 and beyond - without giving too much away, we're particularly excited about an innovate new web-based feature in the pipeline that promises to make irrigation even more convenient for our users."

Frank says visitors can also find out more about the system's wider benefits. "It's worth remembering that GTI not only meets the needs of new constructions and installations, but is also fully compatible with other irrigation systems and so is perfect for repairs and renovations," he adds. "Remedial work can improve an existing system's efficiency by around 20 per cent as well as save on the expense of a new installation - with customers still suffering the affects of the recession, this is a prudent solution for those seeking an irrigation system that performs both efficiently and economically in these tough times."

And in-keeping with Bailoy's commitment to providing customers with a cost-effective product, current users will be pleased to know that V3.00 and its successors will be fully backwards-compatible with existing Gemini and Trident controllers and decoders.
