Barenbrug appoints Bar Range Distributor for Ireland

Barenbrug UK has appointed Spray Chem Limited as its distributor of the BAR range of amenity grass seed mixtures in Southern Ireland. For the first time groundsmen, greenkeepers, landscapers and other professional users in Southern Ireland will have access to the complete range of BAR mixtures, which includes leading varieties such as Barcrown, BarKing and Bargold.

Speaking about the appointment Barenbrug UK managing director Paul Johnson said: "There are a number of reasons why we have decided now is the right time to invest in this important area. Firstly, we have certainly seen a move away from straights to mixtures and we've experienced an increasing enquiry level for the BAR range from the professional sector.

The current managing director, Frank Kennedy, established Spray Chem in 1980 and they are now Ireland's leading supplier of weed control and amenity products. In addition, through Spraychem Golf, they supply a comprehensive range of professional products into the golf market, which is managed by Yvonne Ritchie.
