FalkirkFC.JPGThe impending start of the 2009-10 Scottish Premier League (SPL) season has seen a record number of Scottish clubs select Barenbrug grass seed to get their pitches in optimum playing condition in time for the first fixtures this coming August.

Three such customers are Falkirk, Aberdeen and St Johnstone Football Clubs. This trio of top clubs has reported excellent results from rapid turf repair mixture BAR 50 SOS and the deep-rooting BAR 10 RTF, with Falkirk FC's head groundsman Jim Dawson particularly impressed.

"Barenbrug seed always delivers tremendous results," the three-time winner of the IOG Scottish Football Groundsman of the Year Award says. "Most recently, we tried BAR 10 RTF on our goal mouths and tunnel areas as the turf was simply coming away with wear and the improvements to both our Westfield stadium and University of Stirling training facilities have been fantastic."

Jim is equally enthusiastic about unique ryegrass blend BAR 50 SOS, specifically bred by Barenbrug Research for its rapid establishment and cool soil temperature germination. "SOS is outstanding and definitely saved our surfaces over winter. Players, managers and groundstaff have all commented on how great the pitch looked and performed."
