Barenburg makes major investment in Scotland and the North

Barenbrug has also brought together a new team for the area that, together, has over 50 years' grass seed experience. Billy Nimmo is operations manager for the Falkirk facility and has overall responsibility for the amenity business in Scotland. Billy brings with him a wealth of knowledge in the industry, particularly from his previous position at Nickerson.
"Joining the Barenbrug team is an exciting challenge for me." Billy said. "The number of primary breeders offering blending and bagging in Scotland has reduced dramatically in recent months, so the time is right for Barenbrug to further strengthen and firmly secure its position as the main supplier in the Scottish amenity mixture business. By having a local facility, we will be able to offer customers a tailored and more responsive service."
The new team also includes Jo Gladwin, previously Top Green representative for the UK, who joins as area manger for the north. She is providing full-time technical and sales support to distributors in the area.
Commenting on the changes, Barenbrug UK managing director Paul Johnson says: "Traditionally we haven't had the capacity to service Scotland on a local basis, but we recognise that developing this part of the UK is vital for continued growth and success. The appointment of Jo Gladwin also strengthens our amenity sales team in England.
"We have also made further investment at our Bury St Edmunds head office, with an increased warehousing and blending operation, and more sales staff, to ensure even faster turnaround and sales support for the whole of England."
