IMG_0507.JPG'The Rain Chain', Hadlow College With Westgate Joinery's gold medal winning small sustainable garden that won 'Best in Show' in its category at the Hampton Court Flower Show will be reassembled (in part) and auctioned in aid of Maggie's Cancer Care Centres.

The design, by former Hadlow student Wendy Allen which illustrates a practical and attractive solution to the problem of excess rainfall run-off, featured a car port with a green roof and a timber-clad house wall that will be reassembled by Westgate Joinery into an eco friendly summerhouse.

Stephen Fell, MD of Lindum Turf who's Green Roof Mat, (a combination of wild flowers and sedums growing in recycled felt) said that this was the perfect outcome. "Thousands of visitors enjoyed the garden at the show and because of the auction, elements of the design will live on and be enjoyed by some body else," he commented. "The fact that it will raise money for a very good cause at the same time is an added bonus."

Lindum also supplied their Low Maintenance turf and Lindum Wildflower, (non invasive grasses and wild flowers growing in felt) for the Silver Gilt winning Southend-On-Sea Borough Council garden 'Pastures Bye.'
