0 BLEC clears way for Ransomes ATV demo track at Ipswich HQ

Blec1Gary Mumby, managing director of BLEC Global, put his machinery and landscaping experience to good use at the Ransomes Jacobsen UK headquarters at Ipswich.

Using the BLEC Power Box Rake mounted to an Iseki tractor and a ride-on Culti Pack Seeder, Gary and colleague Tom Shinkins transformed a building site laden with rocks and debris into a stone-free raked grass-seeded area around the new Ransomes ATV demo track.

The BLEC team also used their Rotorake for two-wheeled tractors to prepare a site for future Everris grass seed trials. Raised beds will be created to produced surfaces similar to golf greens and rugby, football and cricket pitches.

"We were only too pleased to help Ransomes out," says Gary. "The job was a good test for our equipment, giving us the opportunity to film a great video of before and after."

Blec2Ian Mitchell, product trainer for Ransomes Jacobsen, says: "Gary and Tom did a first-class job clearing rubble and general industrial waste from the site and produced a wonderful seed bed. We knew we could rely on their experience - but the results were far better than we imagined, given the conditions.

"The area they seeded around the ATV test track greened up within a week as rain created good germination of an Everiss Pro Select 3 mix of fescues. Next year wildflower seed will be sown for a splash of colour among the long grass."

A video of the landscaping work can soon be seen at www.blec.co.uk and the equipment used at Ipswich can be seen working at IOG Saltex.

Two models of the Multivator, both heavy duty and compact, will be on show - and demonstrated - as well as the new BLEC Power Box Rake for Italian-style two wheel tractors, BLEC Discseeder (heavy duty), Multiseeder and Stump Grinder will also be on show.

The contractor's favourite, the BLEC Laser Grader, will also be on display. It has become an essential tool for levelling and grading golf tees that need renovating, and sports field areas.

On the stand at Windsor will be the BLEC Turfmaker Seeder. It has a well-proven method of accurate seeding, with a heavy-duty three-point linkage frame and spacer rings available to allow for better germination of seeds.
