Kings Lynn 002ABartram Mowers of Norwich, the local Ransomes Jacobsen dealer, has supplied the Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk with new turf maintenance equipment for the 2012 season.

The specific machines purchased recently were four Ransomes Highway 3 triplex mowers for the general mowing of sports fields, urban open spaces and verges and two Iseki SFH240 out-front rotary mowers for maintaining churchyards, cemeteries and for taking down the daffodil and bluebell growth at the end of spring.

Nathan Johnson is the council's public open space manager with a wide ranging remit that encompasses street cleaning, parks, gardens and all the amenity open space across West Norfolk.

"Being a very rural community, we work with many of the parish councils across west Norfolk and the County Council Highways," he said. "We are a long standing user of the Ransomes brand; something in excess of 20 years or more. Therefore the operators are very familiar with the products and the quality of cut from the cylinder mowers has always been very good.

"As a department we are very involved in public initiatives with schools and communities across west Norfolk. We support sponsored tree programmes, school projects including the creation of ponds, a community orchard in Hunstanton and, of course, the Britain and Anglia in Bloom competitions. We assist the local communities in the region and have achieved considerable success at national and regional level. For the last three years Hunstanton has been the Coastal Town winner in the Anglia region and a Britain in Bloom finalist.

Kings Lynn 014A"Our relationship with local dealer Bartrams is excellent and we often call on them for advice and guidance. They maintain regular contact with us and their response to any issues is always first class.

"They were instrumental in organising specific operator training for the team, using Ransomes Jacobsen's Cutting Edge Training division to deliver nationally recognised certification. In fact, they have helped our operations assistant obtain Train the Trainer certification so that he can train our team as and when required."
