0 Bristol Rovers snowed under

Bristol Rovers' League One encounter with Huddersfield Town is in the balance due to heavy snowfall covering the Memorial Stadium.

The pitch played host to a new signing on Thursday morning - a snowman - as groundsmen worked to combat the conditions.

On Wednesday covers were laid on half of the pitch but staff were beaten to the remainder by the freeze, leaving them unable to protect it further until it thaws.

Bristol was buried under several inches of snow during the course of Wednesday night as the weather turned once more, causing more than 100 schools to close and bus services to cease running.

Bristol Rovers are hoping the fixture will go ahead after seeing their Tuesday night fixture with Oldham called off and the risk of a fixture backlog. But the club admitted they are in the lap of the weather Gods.

A decision will be made before the Huddersfield Town team depart their base on Friday afternoon.
