CA chiefs hail ‘exciting’ SCG pitch

It turned out to be a graveyard for Australian batters on the opening day of the second Test against Pakistan, but the green top at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) has received strong endorsement from the country's cricket chiefs.

James Sutherland, CA chief executive, announced on Wednesday that he wants other venues around the country and around the world to follow suit.

Sutherland said that flat pitches have created too much "boring" cricket across the globe and wants administrative support for groundsmen who have the "courage" to produce more bowler-friendly wickets.
